DAY 317: Shifting Paradigm: Healing From Within – Rucsandra Mitrea

Rucsandra MitreaI am thrilled to be the author of Chapter 11 in the book Holistic Wellness In The NewAge entitled “Shifting Paradigm: Healing From Within”. Here’s a little fragment:

“Healing cannot occur in the presence of fear and any healing process requires the full release of fear, with its many layers and deeply seated authority. Fear is the energy that impedes and stops true healing. Most people are afraid to look within, at the magnificent and sacred place inside themselves that holds the key to health, abundance, joy and love. They are afraid, because fear is the only field they have been trained in, sequentially and consistently every single day throughout their lives. […]

The only way to deal with fear is to face it openly, to remain still in its presence, to breathe and allow it to wash over us and be present while feeling it; by doing so we stop resisting it. By releasing our resistance, fear releases its grip.

There are no corners to cut and there is no running in circles: the only way to deal with fear is to face it fully, without resistance; feeling the layers of fear snapping at our heels and instead of running away from them, choosing to turn around and look them straight in the face.”

I believe that as we release our minds and hearts from the destructive grip of fear, we will be able to connect with each other at a deeper, more authentic way. From that fearless perspective our perception of others and the world will change and then we will bring change all around us.

DAY 316: Holistic Education – Neha Patel

I am inviting yshutterstock_152541638ou to read this post and ponder on the concepts of a different education for the children of humanity. Chapter 10 in the book Holistic Wellness In The NewAge entitled “Holistic Education ” is written by Neha Patel.

Neha Patel believes that to sow the seeds of positive emotional health in childhood is to reap a harvest of healthy well-balanced adults. With this vision in mind, she created the Little Buddha program for children, which focuses on the psychological, spiritual and emotional enhancement of the child. At a global level she has co-founded the Reform Education for a New World (RENEW) program in order to provide a complete and holistic education system for the children. She is a trainer, counselor and psychologist and the Founder of Sharnam Therapy and Healing Centre for psychological, emotional, spiritual and occupational wellness. She is a trained Arts Based Therapy (ABT) Practitioner. She is a certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, and has trained in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Play Therapy, Transactional Analysis (TA), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Skills for Adolescents (SFA) and many other techniques and modalities.

Neha Patel created the Little Buddha Program for children. She says:

“How would it be if children are given a chance to live a holistic and balanced life, facing the dramas and traumas of the world and yet completely at peace within?

We invite your children for the ‘Little Buddha’ Program to maximize their potential, be empowered, and to live their lives with awareness, harmony, balance and integrity. Our program aims at the emotional, psychological and spiritual well-being of the child.

Children will experimentally learn, with a lot of fun, to:

  • Understand, express and manage emotions effectively,
  • Break out of limiting ideas, beliefs, thoughts and feelings
  • Make conscious choices
  • Enhance their self – confidence and self-worth and appreciate their uniqueness
  • Weave gratitude, trust, humility, compassion, honesty and respect into the fabric of their life
  • Build their frustration tolerance and become resilient
  • Develop social skills, responsibility and co-operation and a lot more …with the help of many well researched, innovative and creative techniques

This program:

  • Teaches children mindfulness techniques, which help them become aware and conscious of themselves and their surroundings and increases their focusing skills
  • Encourages children to be non-judgmental of others
  • Helps them see others perspectives and points of view
  • Encourages assertiveness, empathizing with others and team work
  • Teaches them to be self-reliant, responsible and taking initiative for self-growth
  • Aims to improve their concentration skills, along with improving memory

So while having a lot of fun, in an easy-going, playful, creative way the children learn innovative concepts and skills for personal growth and to become responsible members of society. They are allowed to express themselves and they feel totally accepted just the way they are.

Through different techniques, activities and sessions coupled with their inner understanding and intelligence the child incorporates all they experience in the program in their way of being.

It is important to note that this is a purely non-religious program. The idea is to inculcate balance while simultaneously living your life in the present day world.”

Would you like your child to learn all that?

How about if all the children of the world were educated in programs like the Little Buddha Program?

DAY 315: Parenting in the New Age – Dr. Saloni Singh

shutterstock_172913915Chapter 9 in the book Holistic Wellness In The NewAge entitled “Parenting in the New Age” is written by Dr. Saloni Singh.

Saloni Singh MD became a Life and Parenting Coach to help parents and couples enhance their relationship with each other and their children and bring joy and harmony in their families.

“Our kids require us most to love and accept them for who they are, not to spend our whole time trying to make them into who we think they should be. Also they need our love the most when we feel they deserve it the least. […]

To teach anything to your children, first you need to earn their unshakable trust and faith in everything you do and say. Let your children feel and learn from your attitude that they are important to you, more significant than anything else. Let them know your trust in them is unshakable. And if you think they already know, you are mistaken dear friend.

Many surveys show that children feel unloved or loved conditionally, untrusted and insignificant in the modern age because they feel work, money, status, society, even the laptop and phone calls are more important to their parents than them. […]

Bring the qualities in yourself that you want to see in your child. Be the person you want your child to be and feel the magic.”

Powerful! Parenting for the New Age.

DAY 314: Spiritual Healing Through Storytelling – Dr. Amit Nagpal

shutterstock_21205978Chapter 8 in the the book Holistic Wellness In The NewAge entitled “Spiritual Healing Through Storytelling” is written by Dr. Amit Nagpal.

Dr. Amit Nagpal is a social media influencer, author, speaker, trainer and coach. His special interest and expertise lie in inspirational storytelling, anecdotes and visual storytelling.

Dr. Nagpal teaches his clients to learn how to tell their story so that they can heal their emotional wounds and live free from pain, shame, guilt or anger.

Here’s an excerpt from this chapter:

“How can we use storytelling to heal ourselves of the past and unburden our soul? In my opinion, the process requires the following five steps:

  • Get conscious of your story – The Consciousness
  • Decide to what extent you would want to share – The Content
  • Turn wounds into gifts – The Cure
  • Look at tragedy as if it were comedy – The Comedy
  • Become a witness to your story – The Context

The Universe designed us for storytelling and story listening. Our hearts connect to stories, our brains are wired for stories and our ears want to listen to stories. We want our stories to be heard because our experiences are stories, our complaints are stories and sometimes the biggest burdens on our soul are our untold stories.”

Telling your story from a place of compassion and love for yourself, without feeling like a victim and having a compassionate listener who knows how to listen fully will bring about lightness of heart and deep healing.

DAY 313: The Power of Forgiveness – Water E. Jacobson MD

forgivenessChapter 7 in the the book Holistic Wellness In The NewAge teaches about the power of forgiveness.

Walter E. Jacobson MD, psychiatrist, therapist, spiritual advisor, mastery of life mentor, author and speaker, motivates audiences to break free from self-limiting concepts and negative behaviors getting in the way of their happiness and success. He emphasizes on the power of spiritual techniques and cognitive tools to generate happiness, well-being and material success. He is the author of bestselling book “Forgive to Win”.

“Forgiving others is an act of compassion. We know this. Nonetheless, often times we don’t do it. We want those who hurt us to suffer for what they did. By withholding forgiveness we think we are punishing them. We think we are keeping them stuck in a prison of guilt and shame. But the fact is we’re just punishing ourselves.

We’re prolonging our own suffering. We’re withholding from ourselves our own piece of mind. We’re essentially keeping ourselves locked in an emotional prison cell that is of our own making. We victimize ourselves long after having been victimized by our offenders.”

Isn’t that powerful?

Is there someone in your life you have not yet forgiven?

Do it. Forgive them. Free yourself from the burden of un-forgiveness.

365 DAYS OF GRATITUDE – DAY 16: Not Giving Up

This month marks the 12th Anniversary of Mitrea Wellness Centre. Twenty years ago, even before moving from Romania to Toronto, I had a dream about creating a centre that would provide the most remarkable services and care, that would be a sanctuary for healing the body, clearing the mind, and moving forward in life with joy. At the time I had no more knowledge than teaching aerobics and stretching classes (Romanian style, which was more self-taught then studied). But I could see this centre in my mind and I could feel the healing that it would provide to hundreds and hundreds of people. All I knew was that I wanted to be of service to others and to show them how wonderful life can be in their bodies and their inner selves, even though at the time I did not know how to create the very same things in myself. This is how it all started: with a dream, with a strong desire to do more, be more and help people. Today Mitrea Wellness Centre is at the forefront of preventative care, therapeutic exercise and lifestyle and emotional coaching.

I did stay on track and did not give up. And let me tell you, I did want to give up and close my business quite a few times throughout the years. Things were really challenging from different perspectives more times than one, but something made me remain open and move beyond the difficulties that arise while running a business.  I kept studying and studying, working and working, studying some more and improving my skills all the time; and I also kept working on myself, on my emotional/mental/physical/energetic/spiritual self. I asked for help when I needed it and I continued to run this business that asked so much of me, in all the aspects of my life.

I am grateful because the work I do transforms the lives of my clients. I am grateful because I had a dream and I did not give it up when things became tough. Achieving my dream required all of myself, all the time and because of it all, I grew. Because of it all I am more myself now than I was when I was dreaming my dream.
