DAY 250: You Are Not Your Fears

Tulips

You are not your fears. You have the power to heal. Health is your birthright.

Are you ready to clear away all your health/body related fears?

Bring out the list you created with all the things and situations you are afraid of.

Here’s something you can repeat to yourself to start this process.

“I am not my fears. It is safe for me to live without guarding and defending myself all the time. When I feel afraid, I open my heart and let the love dissolve the fear.” – Louise Hay

You can also search the Internet and find a quote that resonates with you.

Or, better yet: WRITE YOUR OWN LITANY AGAINST FEAR.

Once you have the words that work for you, repeat them over and over so that you release the fear of facing your fears.

Choose one of the fears on your list and sit with it. Feel it fully. Allow it to become as big, as strong, as frightening as it is.

Sit there. Feel it. Look at it. Allow it. Feel it FULLY. Do not pull back, do not retreat, just sit and feel it, in its full intensity.

Repeat your litany against fear over and over if you need to, but do not move. DO NOT MOVE. Breathe deeply and sit in that fear. You are strong, calm and NOTHING can make you move.

The calmer you remain, the weaker the grip your fear will have on you. And after a while, it will dissolve. Once the fear is gone, only YOU will remain.

It is this simple and YOU DO have the strength to let go of ALL YOUR FEARS.

Go through your entire list of fears. It might take you a few days, or a few weeks, but you will get it done. And once this task is complete, you will experience a sense of calm and strength inside yourself that you never knew resided there.

From this calm  and strong place inside yourself, healing can begin.

You CAN heal, but first you must let go of your fears.

DAY 249: Letting Go Of Fear Feeling Like Climbing A Vertical Wall?

letting go of fear

Your fears might feel real to you, but they are not. Your fears do not exist, except in your mind.

“Fears are nothing more than a state of mind.” – Napoleon Hill

A state of mind can be changed. Sometimes it might be easy to do so and sometimes it might requite your time and determination. But you CAN change your state of mind and release the grips of fear.

Years back I came across a few lines in a science fiction book that helped me let go of my fears. I wrote about the “Litany Against Fear” from the novel Dune by Frank Herbert in this blog before.

Here it is:

“I must not fear.

Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.

I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.

Only I will remain.”

You see, once you are willing to sit down with your fear and allow yourself to feel it fully, once you stop pushing it away and hiding from it, it starts to lose its power over you. As you make the decision to open yourself up to your feelings, your fear will pass through you and over you. And once it’s gone, only you will remain.

Take a look at the list of fears you made two days ago. Choose one fear that you can deal with right now. Sit down with it. Look at it. Feel it. Openly and fully. And feel it pass over you and through you until you become free of it.

You can do it!

DAY 248: Show Your Fears Some Attitude!

attitude

Have you made your list? Are you ready to learn how to become fearless?

Buckle up!

The only way to deal with fear is to face it directly.

Let me say it again: the only way to deal with fear is to face it directly.

Are you afraid of how this will feel? After all, we are talking about looking your fear straight in the eye.

You might feel quite scared by this possibility. You are fearing your fears, so to speak.

But it is a lot lighter and easier than you think.

This is a great moment that will change everything!

Follow me for the next couple of posts and let me show you how to face your fears, one by one.

I am talking about feeling your fear snapping at your heels and instead of running away from it, choosing to turn around and face it fully.

You can do it.

I know you can; and I will show you how.

Love,

Rucsandra

DAY 247: Finding Your Way To Health

finding your way

In my post yesterday I invited you to put all your fears regarding your health on paper; to bring them to the surface and write them all down.

I know that looking this deeply inside yourself might be a difficult thing for you to do. I understand that there will be resistance to this process and I want to support you and help you with it, because it is important.

Until you become aware of your fears and make the effort to move beyond them, they will continue to chip away at your strength, emotional balance and your innate capacity to heal. Your fears do not allow you to heal and live a joyful life.

So, I will get you started and offer you an idea about what fears might make it to your list, in no specific order:

  • I am afraid of illness
  • I am afraid of cancer
  • I am afraid of germs
  • I am afraid that my body will not keep up
  • I am afraid that I cannot heal
  • I am afraid of physical pain
  • I am afraid of hospitals
  • I am afraid I will get sick
  • I am afraid something is not right with my body
  • I am afraid I will become bed-ridden
  • I am afraid that the quality of my life will diminish drastically
  • I am afraid my spouse will resent my illness
  • I am afraid I will not be able to do the things I love anymore
  • I am afraid to ask for help
  • I am afraid it will only get worse
  • I am afraid there is no cure for me
  • I am afraid nothing will work
  • I am afraid to try a new medication
  • I am afraid to give up my medication
  • I am afraid my joints will give out
  • I am afraid to live in my body
  • I am afraid to move my body
  • I am afraid to pay attention to my body
  • I am afraid to speak my mind
  • I fear loneliness
  • I am afraid of life in general
  • I fear death
  • I fear the death of my mother, father, spouse
  • I am afraid I’ll get sick
  • I fear emotional pain
  • I fear other people
  • I am afraid God will punish me
  • I am afraid to take a chance

Ok, you get the idea. Take from this list what is true for you and keep going. Keep going and do not stop until all your fears, great and small, are written down on paper.

Tomorrow I’ll share with you how I dealt with my list of fears.

Love,

Rucsandra

DAY 246: Awareness Helps You Heal

awareness

Make a list: write down all your fears about your well-being, health and the future.

Don’t shy away from any of them; put them down on paper. Bring them up from deep inside yourself, and allow the sheet of paper to hold them. I will show you what to do next, but first, take the time to do this.

Even if it’s scary, do it. Even if you feel like running away, do it. Even if you feel like you never want to read this blog again, do it. This is just your fears talking, trying to stop you from healing your body.

Become aware of how afraid you really are is the first step in the healing process.

So take some time, allow your fears to surface and then write them down.

Tomorrow I’ll tell you what to do with the list.

Love,

Rucsandra

DAY 245: What Do You Fear?

fear

Factual fear is based on things that are clearly dangerous, like venturing into a rough part of town alone after dark, like going swimming in a big storm, like driving a car you know is unsafe to drive; is the actual “fight or flight response”. This fear is a powerful mechanism that keeps us safe and out of danger.

Imaginary fear on the other hand, is, as the name clearly states: IMAGINED. There are no absolute facts in it, except the ones fabricated by the mind to justify the fear. Thoughts such as: “What if it does not work?”, “What if I cannot heal?”, “What if this gets worse”, “What if I will be disabled by this (whatever it may be: you low back, a hip degeneration, terrible migraines, pain)”?.

You do not know as a clear fact that you will not get better, that you will not heal.

Why don’t you say instead: “What is this works? What if I can get better? What if I just need to let go of fear and start stating the opposite? What if I can fully heal?”

From now on, choose to shift your mind from your imaginary fears. Be very diligent about it. In order to change a habit of thought you simply repeat the new thought pattern until IT becomes the new habit.

Rucsandra

365 DAYS OF GRATITUDE – DAY 227: The Domino Effect

dominos

Is your body in need of some healing? Is your life in need of healing?

Every single change you make for the better counts a lot. Your decision to pay attention to yourself, to your body, to your feelings and your thoughts will add to your overall improvement.

Like pieces of domino arranged to create a domino effect, each little step will make the next one possible.

Although this might seem like something too small or too obvious, each step counts.

So wherever you are in your body and in your life, whatever challenge you are facing right now, take one small step and envision its power for the future steps, which might not be possible without you making the very first one today.

Rucsandra

365 DAYS OF GRATITUDE – DAY 218: Are You Feeling Pain Or Are You Suffering?

suffering

Suffering and pain are very different things.

The physical body is fully equipped to heal and release pain. I have witnessed this process in my clients countless times throughout the years. Even when the actual pain sensation is acute, sharp and intense, it can dissipate quite quickly; that is, if the body is allowed to do what it knows.

Now, falling down a ladder and breaking a few ribs will be painful, of course.

What I am talking about is the fact that in the absence of fear and panic, the physical sensation of pain diminishes considerably.

Suffering is something different altogether. Suffering is the hidden culprit behind chronic pain; it is the vicious circle that must be broken so that the body can heal.

Pain is not the same as suffering. Left to itself, the body discharges pain spontaneously, letting go of it the moment that the underlying cause is healed. Suffering is pain that we hold on to. It comes from the mind’s mysterious instinct to believe that pain is good, or that it cannot be escaped, or that the person deserves it.” ― Deepak Chopra, The Book of Secrets: Unlocking the Hidden Dimensions of Your Life

Is your body in pain?

Ask yourself if deep inside, you are suffering.

365 DAYS OF GRATITUDE – DAY 217: Mens Sana In Corpore Sano

body and mind

The cells in your body react to everything your mind says. Negative thinking and attitudes create chronic stress that upsets the body’s hormonal balance. Negativity is known to bring down the immune system.

Negative thinking is more destructive than you think. It can ruin your brain, body and overall health on the long term.

Traditional Chinese Medicine associates emotional conflicts/negativity to specific organ functions:

  • The heart can be affected by excess excitement
  • The kidneys can be affected by fear or shock
  • The lungs can be affected by sadness or suppressed grief
  • The spleen and pancreas can be affected by worry or pensiveness
  • The liver can be affected by anger or frustration

Ancient Greek Medicine considered the mind and the body as being strongly interconnected.  The ancient Greeks ideal of health was holistic and is expressed in the maxim, “Mens sana in corpore sano”, which means “A sound mind in a healthy body”.

Native American Medicine promotes mental, physical and spiritual well-being. Traditional healing includes a wide range of activities to improve well-being and restore the balance of a person’s mind, body and spirit, which is necessary for healing. They also say that diseases are more likely to invade the body of a person who is imbalanced, has negative thinking, or lives an unhealthy lifestyle.

Change your mind. Change your body.

Rucsandra

365 DAYS OF GRATITUDE – DAY 216: Creating Your Body

cells

The body you have right now is not the body you had one year ago.

You reinvent your body every year:

  • New stomach liming cells every 5 days
  • All new red blood cells every 4 months
  • A completely new skeleton every 10 years
  • New lungs in a year

So why is it that if you suffer, let’s say, from chronic pain, you do not get to feel better month after month after month, as your body keeps replacing old cells with new ones.

The problem is that even though your physical body has an extraordinary capacity for renewal, you reinvent it the same way over and over again, through your thinking, emotional health and beliefs.

Your body retains the same patterns; it has the same illnesses; it has the same problems.

The condition that is creating discomfort or pain:

  • Is recreated over and over again
  • Remains the same month after month, year after year
  • Is now a powerful belief
  • Controls you

Dr.  Andrew Weil, author of  ’’SPONTANEOUS HEALING: How To Discover And Enhance Your Body’s Natural Ability To Maintain And Heal Itself.’’

“People can get better. More than that, they can get better from all sorts of conditions of disease, even very severe ones of long duration.”

What is required in order to heal?

What do the people who get better tap into in order to change their condition?

More on this tomorrow.

Rucsandra
