DAY 285: All Parts Of You Matter

Your mind, your body, your emotions and your spirituality equally contribute to your physical health, emotional well-being, peace of mind and vibrant, fulfilling life.

If one of these parts of you is in long term disharmony and dissonance with the rest, your overall health will suffer.

Here’s a little excerpt from Candace Pert’s Ph.D. book “Everything You Need To Know To Feel Go(o)d”:

“But what I know with certainty and apply every day in my life is that the mind and the body are one. The basis for this unity is that all systems of our physiology are connected and coordinated by emotion-laden, information-carrying molecules, engaged in constant cross talk, for example, between the nervous and immune systems. This network of communication that takes place throughout the body and brain involves intelligence and emotion to create one entity, which I call the ‘bodymind’.”

Science is offering us the information we need in order to move from the “body being separate from the mind” paradigm.

They are not separate. They are one. The sooner we acknowledge this as being the truth, the sooner we can start the healthcare revolution; a healthcare revolution that is desperately needed in our society.

DAY 284: Chronic Pain And The Frontal Cortex

From my experience of working with thousands of people over more than 20 years, comes the understanding that pain levels can be increased or diminished according to how the pain sensation is interpreted in the brain.

I have worked with many people in chronic pain. Fear of pain and fear of a debilitated future spent in chronic pain are responsible  for more than 30 to 50% of the physical sensation of pain.

Once the fear diminishes, so does the pain.

I have taught my clients to release fear and to become emotionally stronger and clearer in order to release chronic pain.

And here’s how this works. Candace Pert Ph.D. says in her book “Everything You Need To Know To Feel Go(o)d”:

“… incoming sensation is filtered heavily by endorphins and other molecules of emotion at the peri-acqueductal grey (PAG), a structure in the brain where pain is first perceived. Moving into higher regions of the brain, discomfort is further filtered.; and if it’s strong enough, it arrives in the foremost area of the brain, the frontal cortex. There, a decision about the severity of the sensation is made, impacting the degree of suffering that a person experiences. In other words, pain is highly influenced by emotion and interpretation…”

Read it over and over again. It is revolutionary.

DAY 283: The Non-Real Reality

What we perceive to be the world around us is filtered through our past experiences and the memories we have of them.

The lens created by what we’ve lived so far causes us to less than clear images of our lives. The scars of our past, if left buried and unhealed create a thick covering on this lens. As a result, what we see is not what really is.

The late Candace Pert, Ph.D., who revolutionized the world of science with her discovery of the molecules of emotion, writes in her book entitled “Everything You Need To Know To Feel Go(o)d”:

“… your experience of so-called reality is filtered through your memories, giving your experience a spin, adding meaning, and even making part of each situation go or stay unconscious, as in the case of a core emotional trauma, if the event is too painful to remember.

We’re constantly resonating with what we already know to be true. Everything that you feel is filtered along a  gradient of past experiences and memory that’s stored in your receptors –  there isn’t any absolute or external reality! What you experience as reality is your story of what happened.”

I believe that making our emotional well-being  a priority and looking inside without fear is the key to healing the physical body.

The body, the mind and the emotions are so closely knit together that we cannot have a healthy body in the presence of deep emotional and mental turmoil.

DAY 282: Let’s Burn The Old Beliefs

I think we got it all wrong! We believed what most religions preach: that we are born sinners, flawed from the beginning and that we need to work really hard to get the approval of God.

I’ve always rebelled against such thinking. Even as a child I constantly argued with my grandmother about her religious beliefs: “My Grandmother Called Me A Pagan“.

I believe that it is this deeply ingrained conditioning that creates misery and tragedy in our society, in our world.

We are not flawed, we are not born sinners. We are not weak and unworthy. We do not need to be accepted through the pearly gates. And most definitely we are not defined by interpretations of the religious texts.

We are magnificent human beings, part of a magnificent humanity on a magnificent planet.

The horrors and disasters that we are currently creating in our world come from the belief that we are small, petty, worthless and powerless. As a result of this general level of consciousness, we get to experience ecological disasters: we are destroying the only home we have; we see tragedy and pain: wars, and random shootings, suffering and loss.

We are in this together: you and me and everyone else. Every breathing being on this planet is a part of us. Every drop of water is a drop of us.

Every act of cruelty against another (human, animal, plant or the planet Earth) is an act of cruelty against each and every one of us.

Let’s burn the old belief that we are small.

Let’s burn the old belief that we are different from one another.

Let’s burn the old belief that change is hard and takes time.

Let’s change together.

Today’s message is an invitation to ponder on the idea that even though you might not yet see the solution to a problem, the answer is always there. It does not matter if your challenge you are facing right now is with your health, your finances, your career or your relationships. There is a solution to your problem, even if you cannot see it in this moment.

Do you pay attention to what your body is trying to tell you?

Limiting beliefs: I wrote about this topic many times, but because I see it everyday with my clients, I want to make the point again.

Your body will follow where your mind is willing to go.

It is that simple, but it is not that easy. Most people do not know that they can change their belief systems in such powerful ways that vibrant health, abundance and wealth, as well as fulfilling relationships will be their new, day to day experience.

Are you or someone you know in pain?

I am talking about physical pain but this applies to emotional pain as well.

This is the ugly truth of why you are still suffering: you continue to create your pain.

This is a simple and straightforward sequence of events:

You cannot heal your body if you believe you cannot heal →Your belief creates fear → Fear creates stress → Stress creates stress hormones → The healing process is hindered, stopped or even reversed → Pain becomes ‘’chronic’’ → Pain rules your life!

Getting out of pain is just as simple and straightforward and it must start with your thoughts.

Without changing your beliefs all the healing modalities you try and all the therapists you hire will have limited, partial success.

365 DAYS OF GRATITUDE – DAY 157: When I Stopped Trying To Do What Others Expected Of Me…

… I became free to find my own way.

I carved my own path, according to my own desires and following my heart.

And I was right to do so, because where I am and who I am today would not have been possible had I continued on a path that was not mine to follow.

So I say: it’s better to look back and know that you had the courage to do things your way, rather than having regrets and wishing things were different.
