DAY 296: How Scared Are People?

Fear and its effects on individuals and society became a subject of scientific.

Dr. Deepak Chopra and Jim Clifton in their article entitled “The Fear Factor: How Scared Are People?” say:

“Over the past decade the word “fear” has become all too familiar. After 9/11, critics of the war on terror called it fear-mongering. After the financial crash of 2008, living in a climate of fear became the lot of millions of people who lost their jobs, retirement accounts, and homes.

In the face of such violence, the prevalence of fear can have a profound effect on the health, well-being, and economic development: if a society is in a constant state of fear, it won’t produce anything good.”

Fear is everywhere. People take their first dose of daily fear with their morning coffee, while watching the news, reading the newspaper or listening to the car radio on their way to work. They start to feel the fists of fear in their guts right after brushing their teeth in the morning.

The truth is that fear sells.

It is also true that for every sad and disconcerting thing that we hear about in the news, there is a beautiful, uplifting and empowering thing that is happening somewhere in the world in the exact same time. Unfortunately, that would not sell, so the accent is put on what sells: tragedy, pain, and fear. A continuous stream of fear-creating news is bombarding us all day long.

Understanding all this gives us the option to make a choice whether to live in fear or not.

DAY 295: Fear Is The Mind-Killer

Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.

I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.

Only I will remain.”

About 20 years ago I came across the “Litany against Fear” in the novel Dune by Frank Herbert. I used it many times, found it powerful and felt its clearing and healing effects.

This quote means a lot to me and it helped me release the fear of fear itself.

In the greater awareness of this powerful and calm energy, I was able face my fear and see what fear really is: non-reality, a fabrication of the mind, fed by our society, media and our beliefs.

DAY 294: Dismantling Fear

Most people are consumed with fear and are devoured by it every single minute. I have lived in fear all my life until I understood what fear really is.

I want you to understand it too, and to become free of it.

Come with me on this journey, let me share with you what I have learned.

What I now know about this feared subject transformed the way I live my life, changed the very core of my being and healed me.

This is my gift to you: a series of posts on how to transcend fear, a course on how to become fearless and take your life to the next level.

I made a commitment to myself to live FEARLESSLY and I do. This does not mean that I jump off cliffs, put myself in dangerous situations and do crazy things in order to prove to myself or others that I can overcome fear. What it means is that I do not have that knot inside my stomach everyday, from fears known and unknown; most people do. It also means that I have built  a series of skills that allow me to recognize in myself when fear starts to peak its head, so that I can free myself up immediately.

My decisions are not based on fear anymore and let me assure you: I have made many decisions throughout my life which were based on fear, because that is all I knew.

“See you” again tomorrow. Come prepared to dismantle many things you thought were true. Come prepared to start understanding how magnificent you truly are, how powerful and how fearless you are at the core of your being.

DAY 293: Freedom

 

freedomAre you intrigued by the dancing skeleton?

It looks quite free in its dance, doesn’t it?

What I have come to know is that freedom in your body will not come by exercising alone.

Building strength, increasing your flexibility and stamina are only one part of what your body needs in order to be free, move with ease, heal, stay healthy and feel alive and vibrant.

The freedom and health of your body depend on many things.

What you eat and drink, as well as how much good quality sleep you get contribute to how you feel in your body as well.

But this is still not enough for your overall freedom in the physical body.

The way you FEEL is crucial!

Your emotional health, the way you think of yourself, the way you treat yourself weigh a lot more in the balance of health than you might realize.

I met many very fit people, who took great care of what they eat and how much they exercise and yet, they were bound in their bodies by tightness, restriction, constriction and discomfort.

Your inner balance and peace are paramount for the freedom you experience in your body.

So start by looking inside and finding out what is it that you need to do in order to heal on the emotional level first.

By doing so, you will allow your body to heal and experience freedom and joy.

DAY 292: What You Need To Feel Good

What is it that you truly need in order to feel good?

Health? A slenderer body? Money? The love of your life? A new career?

Really, what is it?

Take a moment and look inside for the answer.

Whatever your answer is, I want to tell you that what you REALLY need in order to feel good is YOURSELF.

The relationship you have with yourself determines how good you feel every day.

You do not need money, better lovers, a fabulous body, better health. What you need is loving who you are.

When you feel good inside, all the things you want will come as an unavoidable consequence.

Do you love yourself?

Are you being kind with yourself?

These are the true question that need answering.

DAY 291: Living From Your SOUL

Are you living your life or are you allowing yourself to be lived by life?

You see, if you believe that you are at the mercy of your surroundings, then you are “being lived” by them.

Your surroundings have only the power that you are giving them.

In every situation, regardless how challenging, trying or traumatic it might be, you have the power to choose your actions.

Living from your soul means that you show up every day with honesty, integrity, authenticity, compassion and love; without fear, without feeling like a victim, without blame or shame or guilt.

Every single moment of your life is an invitation to raise above the old, the small, and the fearful parts of you.

There is nothing that you cannot do when you live from your soul.

There is nothing to fear when you live from your soul.

There is nothing more that your SOUL desires than for you to live fully, vibrantly, as YOURSELF!

DAY 290: Time To LISTEN

I strongly believe in a person’s capacity for growth and victory over perceived obstacles.

I call them “perceived” obstacles because most of us create, through our beliefs our own limitations and barriers.

These barriers might feel real to us at a given moment, but once we shift our perception and release the limiting thoughts, they lose their power and stop being obstacles.

My steadfast belief is that we can move beyond fear, limitations and old patterns that do not serve us anymore.

Like many other people, I have been on an extraordinary inner journey from fear to love.

I know that we can expand in consciousness and grow in ways we never imagined.

We have reached the magical threshold in our human evolution when it is time to listen to what we already know.

This knowledge is embedded in all of us… and now it is time to LISTEN..
